Learn to Manage Your Stress Levels

Stress not only impacts your mind, but your whole body at a cellular level. When you are stressed, your cells close and are unable to receive the proper amount of oxygen they need to function optimally. This is because your brain is telling your cells, "It's time to fight or flight!" Constantly being in this "fight or flight" mode prohibits your cells from eliminating toxins and receiving the proper nutrients which is a precursor to developing disease. This is one of the main reasons why individuals who are chronically stressed are more susceptible to having health issues.

Realize that experiencing stress is not always caused by external factors. It is typically wrong beliefs that reside in our subconscious mind that cause us to interpret an event as stressful even if it isn't. While there are certainly events in life that can cause one to exhibit a stress response, remember that you are the one in control of your feelings and how you will respond.
